Overview
A performance fit for the global stage and inheriting many features from its big brother, the A-S2200 delivers an authentic, powerful yet somehow elegant and emotional Hi-Fi sound. Absolute musicality from a luxuriously beautiful instrument.
EMOTION
Music spawns from something emotional. A unique, personal story an artist wishes to share. Understanding how music is created, and indeed helping artists to create, embeds in Yamaha’s DNA a fundamental understanding of music, particularly the emotion upon which music creation is inspired. In the development of each of our extensive range of Hi-Fi products, conveying this emotion to the listener is one of the most important considerations.
OPENNESS
Authentic, pure Hi-Fi is less about listening to brilliant sounding equipment and more about that equipment disappearing and the artist performing live in the room. The openness of the music, that feeling of being within reach of the artist, brings the music to the fore, and makes listening to music an active rather than passive experience.
GROOVE
Feeling the music. Not just feeling like you are there, but feeling the story in the music. Feeling the rhythm, the groove of the music. Moving with the music. Only a true representation of the music can deliver this.
MusicCast VINYL 500

EMOTION
Conveying the emotional story of artists can only truly be achieved with an intimate understanding of how music is created. This understanding is embedded in Yamaha’s DNA, developed particularly through working with artists to help them create music. It’s this understanding that enables Yamaha to truly convey all the emotion ingrained in the music to the listener.
Toroidal Transformer
Toroidal power transformers, renowned for their superior performance in Hi-Fi components has been appointed to power the A-S2200. Its ability to maintain energy when compared to substitutes aids the A-S2200 in delivering all the emotional energy of the artist infused in the music.
Gorgeous Level Meters
The level meters are both a nod to the nostalgic era of Hi-Fi while simultaneously demonstrating the importance of pure Hi-Fi for today’s discerning enthusiast. Visually presenting the dynamics and pulse of the music, the level meters imbue a warm feeling through their softly illuminated LED’s.
OPENNESS
True Hi-Fi brings the artist to the fore and makes the listener forget where they are. Music listening becomes an active experience rather than a passive activity. The openness in Yamaha’s Hi-Fi range delivers this musical experience.
Thick Wires for Ground Connection by Low Impedance Concept
A naturally open sound stage is achieved through a culmination of design and component selection. Thick wires for ground connection were purposely selected, adding to the overall low impedance amplifier design, producing a wide and open sound stage for the listener. Consequently, the components disappear, leaving the artist in their place.
Original Speaker Terminals
Cut directly from pure brass, the luxurious speaker terminals effortlessly allowing tightening by the human hand achieving a highly secure connection.
GROOVE
Music is more than a story. The rhythm and groove of the music reaches the listener, consciously or subconsciously, to evoke a feeling from the story that’s within the music. Presenting the music as intended by the artist achieves this for the listener.
Mechanical Ground Concept
The Mechanical Ground Concept adopted in the A-S2200 maximises rigidity and reduces any unwanted vibration, achieving expressive and rhythmic bass. Further rigidity is achieved with the large power transformer, block capacitors and heat sink directly bolted to the chassis while the feet, with bolts directly welded to the main chassis, provide further reinforcement for absolute rigidity.
Silver Plating Brass Feet
Completing the amplifier rigidity are the heavy-duty silver-plated brass feet.
